Porsche shows off its 911 GT3 RS

Porsche has given its fans the opportunity to discover just what makes its RS badge so special, by comparing the potent new version 911 GT3 RS with historic RS models.

The very first Porsche to carry the RS badge was in 1972 with the 911 2.7 RS. This car had roughly 156kW of power and could make the sprint from 0-100kmh in 5.6 seconds. Since then we’ve seen the RS name appear on the 964, 993 and 996 model, and the current generation 997 line.

To celebrate its RS Porsche line and as an excuse to have a thrash on a racetrack, Porsche UK has created a video highlighting both past and present RS models, featuring the 1973 911 RS and the 996 and 997 911 GT3 RS. Check it out below…
