Take the wheel and try beating times set by some of the stars of Supercars on karting tracks across the region when ITM Auckland SuperSprint returns in November.
SuperSprint Karting is a free event taking place in the lead-up the ITM Auckland SuperSprint at Pukekohe Park Raceway on 4 – 6 November, the only New Zealand fixture in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
The free karting event is being held on Tuesday, 1 November, to get Auckland revved up for the Supercars’ return to the region.
People will be able to register for a timeslot at either Mangere’s Formula E Raceway, Highbrook’s Extreme Indoor Karts or Henderson’s Blastcars West Auckland, to take a crack at track times set by Fabian Coulthard and David Reynolds.
SuperSprint Karting is being produced by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), in conjunction with Supercars and ITM.
ATEED general manager external events Steve Armitage says: “ITM Auckland SuperSprint is one of Auckland’s biggest annual events, full of exciting, high-octane action and friendly trans-Tasman rivalry, and it injects millions of dollars into the local economy every year.
“We want people in Auckland to share the buzz and the excitement of Supercars being in town, with SuperSprint Karting as well as the always popular Fan Day, when people can meet the drivers.”
“Put the date in your calendars. If you want to get behind the wheel and see if you can match Fabian or David’s pre-recorded times on the tracks, or simply have a go at karting, jump onto our What’s On in Auckland Facebook page and click on the SuperSprint Karting event for updates about the event and pre-registration.”
