Range Rover Sport voted Most Beautiful SUV

Germany’s Auto Motor and Sport magazine voted the Range Rover Sport in first place in the off-road vehicles category of the Autonis awards held at this month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

More than 10,000 readers took part in the reader survey, voting on 89 vehicles in eight categories in the market place. In the off-road category readers had to choose between 13 vehicles. The 2010 Range Rover Sport received 20.4% of the vote, the Audi Q7 took second with 17.4% and third place went to the Mercedes ML with 10.4%.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director, said, “The new Range Rover Sport has a cleaner, more muscular appearance with a bold new frontal graphic that helps to reinforce the vehicle’s athletic stance. To be voted top by readers of a highly respected German magazine ahead of strong competition from the homegrown competition is a truly outstanding achievement.”

The 2010 Range Rover Sport is due to arrive in New Zealand in October.
