Marshall, a 20-year Holden veteran, will lead the development of GM Holden’s energy diversity strategy and drive its implementation.
That includes the introduction of more fuel efficient and low emission vehicles. Holden has already indicated it will sell the Chevrolet Volt electric vehicle as a Holden, and from 2010 plans to introduce Commodores running on E85 ethanol (85 percent ethanol/15 percent petrol).
Marshall will also be responsible for energy and environment issues involving Holden’s Premium Brands division which includes Saab, Hummer and Cadillac.
“GM Holden is working on more alternative technologies and alternative fuels than any other time in its history, to produce a range of vehicles that are practical, affordable and reduce our carbon footprint,” says Reuss.
“(Marshall’s) leadership, passion and expertise will help GM Holden expand its EcoLine range of vehicles, as well as the infrastructure needed to support them.”
Holden’s EcoLine range, highlighted at this year’s Sydney motor show, includes Astra, Captiva and Epica (pictured) diesels and LPG version of the Commodore.
Marshall was previously Holden’s director, innovation engineering which included energy, environment and advanced technology. He starts his new job on January 12.
