Rolls-Royce launches first ever showroom in NZ

The new facility was unveiled by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ Sales and Marketing Director Jolyon Nash, General Manager South & East Asia Pacific Dan Balmer and Executive Chairman of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Auckland, Bob McMillan. The dealership is owned by Team McMillan Limited, which has provided owners of Rolls-Royce motor cars with a service facility and workshop for over seven years.

On the official opening of the showroom, the first in New Zealand, Jolyon Nash said: “We are very pleased to launch the first-ever official Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showroom in New Zealand – a car market buoyed by economic resilience and an appetite for super-luxury cars. This continues our global expansion plan to support a long-term sustainable growth, fresh from a record breaking year. I congratulate Team McMillan and have no doubt that the new Auckland facility will continue to forge exemplary standards of service support for current and future Rolls-Royce customers, many of whom are new to the brand.”

Bob McMillan added: “Today’s opening of the new Rolls-Royce showroom at Newmarket is a milestone for the motor industry in New Zealand, bolstering a vibrant car market and allowing customers an opportunity to create some truly bespoke motor cars. We aim to ensure that Rolls- Royce buyers in New Zealand have nothing less than a highly positive ownership experience. Our authorised workshop, which is fully supported by the Rolls-Royce factory, is also equipped with the latest technology to service Rolls-Royce cars.”

The new Auckland showroom enables customers to configure their cars using colour, wood and leather samples from the manufacturing plant at Goodwood, West Sussex, England.

Strategically positioned in the premier retail area of Auckland, the new showroom joins a growing number of dealerships in the Asia Pacific region. A total of 28 dealerships in the region service 2 markets across Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and New Zealand.

Ghost Extended Wheelbase

At the opening ceremony, a Ghost Extended Wheelbase was showcased. The car combines segment leading cabin space with hallmark Rolls-Royce effortless power delivery and driver dynamic. Powered by the acclaimed Rolls-Royce Ghost 6.6 litre twin turbo charged V12 engine which produces 563 hp and 780Nm of torque at only 1,500 rpm, Ghost Extended Wheelbase accelerates from 0-100km/h in just five seconds. An intelligent, four-corner air suspension maintains a perfect balance of the legendary “magic carpet? ride comfort married to effortless handling.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars

It takes 60 pairs of hands between one and six months to build a Rolls-Royce motor car, in a tireless pursuit of quality echoing the famous words of company founder, Sir Henry Royce: “Strive for perfection in everything you do. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars recently revealed record sales results for 2011. 3,538 cars were sold globally during the year, a 31 per cent increase on the 2010 total of 2,711 cars. The figure represents the best sales result in the company’s 107-year history; the previous record of 3,347 cars having been set in 1978 during the Silver Shadow II era.

Strong sales growth was reported across the globe, particularly in the Asia Pacific (up 47%), North America (up 17%) and the Middle East (up 23%). China and the United States were the most significant individual markets for Rolls-Royce.
