A sports-style RX model has joined Nissan’s Micra range in New Zealand.
The RX has a 1.4-litre motor and four speed automatic transmission, and rides on 15-inch alloy wheels.
It also has a rear spoiler and side skirts, six airbags, and a $22,495 sticker price.
Nissan NZ boss John Manley says the company’s research has shown people are prepared to pay “a bit more for a car that looks good and has aditional features as well as having low operating costs.”
“(We believe) the $2000 premium over the Micra ST model is a reasonable price to pay for four more airbags, alloy wheels, the spoiler and skirts.”
The Micra range starts with the 1.2-litre with five-speed manual gearbox at $17,995 and includes the $20,495 1.4-litre ST with automatic gearbox.
All Micras have air-conditioning, remote-central door-locking, power windows and mirrors, two airbags, tilt adjustable steering wheel, ABS brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution.
The ST with adds velour upholstery, intelligent key operation, automatic headlights-on, a four speaker CD system and 60/40 split-folding rear seats.
