Sunshine and clean air get credit

A1GP Feature Race winner, Neel Jani, says the warm New Zealand weather helped him shake off the final effects of the virus which confined him to bed for 12 days in the lead-up to the Taupo race meeting.

“When I arrived here on Monday, I felt still really bad,” said the Swiss driver. “Every day I got better in the warm air in New Zealand.

“And it looks like the clean and fresh air helped me as well.”

Jani was hoping to find time on Monday to visit Mount Ruapehu before he heads home to Switzerland and the winter on Tuesday.
