Two Kiwis fly in Hamilton

Two New Zealand drivers, finished in the top 10 in the first, full-field qualifying session of the Australian V8 Supercars at Hamilton this morning.

Fabian Coulthard was a sensational second in the Glenfords Ford Falcon behind Jamie Whincup, and Shane Van Gisbergen set sixth-fastest time in his Stone Brothers Racing Ford.

Greg Murphy was 10th quickest till the closing seconds when he was bumped from the Cameron McConville.

Another late improved was Steven Richards who placed 18th, ensuring himself of a place in the second d session in which the fastest 20 are whittled down to the top 10.

Missing the top 20 cut were Kiwis Jason Richards and Kayne Scott.
