The supercar will feature a distinct golden paint finish dubbed AMG Desert Gold, which is unique to the show car.

Most of the aluminium body is finished in a matt gold silk surface, while all the decorative and mounted features that usually come in chrome on the standard SLS AMG have been given a deep-black gloss paint finish, even the alloy wheels.

Inside, the car boasts sports seats, a solid carbon-fiber center console, and various other carbon fiber accents.

Designers says the AMG Desert Gold finish is only being used for the display vehicle at the Dubai Motor Show, but it could become available as an individual optional extra if there is demand.

Otherwise, the car is pretty much standard, with a 571-horsepower 6.3-litre V8 and a quick-shifting 7-speed dual-clutch transmission under the hood. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100kmh in 3.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 317kmh.

Also on the Mercedes-Benz stand will be the G 55 AMG Edition 79. This model will be built exclusively for the Middle East.

Named after the year the G-Class went into production (1979), the Edition 79 features a matt “designo magno alanite grey” paint job, a font crash bar, 19-inch AMG wheels, and chrome accents.

Inside, Mercedes added two-tone (black and sand) designo leather seats, carbon-fiber trim, and an individually numbered Edition 79 badge. Production will be limited to 79 units.
