The Veritas RS III is an open-cockpit supercar with a M5-sourced V10 engine that pays homage to the 1940’s era BMW racing team.
Veritas says that five of the 30 luxury cars have been soldpre-production, while another eight have been reserved. But, before you add one to your Christmas list, be aware that prices start at €345,000, or about NZ$687,800.
The German company said that a staff of 15 people install the chassis, bodywork and interior at three workstations, with production of a completed model taking about eight weeks.
The RS III is a 1+1 seater with a covered passenger seat that can be opened if required. The vehicle’s body is made of ultra-light carbon fiber built atop a tube frame.
The 4.68m long and 2.02m wide supercar is powered by a 5.0-litre V10 from the BMW M5/M6 that makes 507hp and is coupled to either a seven-speed SMG transmission or a manual six-speed gearbox, pushing power to the rear-wheels.
Weighing in at 1080kg, it is reportedly capable of accelerating from 0 to 100kmh in under 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 347kmh.
