The new Volkswagen Polo features a 1.4-litre engine and 7 speed DSG gearbox.
When combined with the DSG transmission, Volkswagen says only 5.8 litres of fuel is required to travel 100km – an improvement of 16% when compared to the previous generation. CO² emissions are reportedly 135g/km.
By the middle of 2010, the Polo will come with a new 1.2L TSI, turbo-charged four-cylinder direct injection petrol engine, producing 77kW, consuming 5.5L of fuel per 100km and producing 129 g/km of CO². Importantly, the 175Nm of torque is available from 1500-3500rpm.
