Volkswagen will produce the New Small Family cars in Slovakia. The other vehicles built at the plant include the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Skoda Octavia, and Volkswagen Touareg.

The plant will initially be responsible for building new three-door and five-door models for Volkswagen, Seat, and Skoda, according to a press release.

The first vehicles in the new family are due to roll off the Volkswagen production lines in Slovakia at the beginning of 2011.

These economical city cars (‘Up’ concept car pictured) made their world debut at the 62nd International Motor Show in Frankfurt in 2007.
