As a Sport Utility Vehicle, the SUV was once a humble high-riding wagon that could go further than your average city car.
As the automotive industry has progressed, so have consumer tastes, and now the mainstream think everything needs to be an SUV.
This is how we’ve ended up with SUVs from brands such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Lamborghini.
And while these SUVs have increased ground clearance and fancy all-wheel drive systems, this doesn’t mean they’re built to get off the beaten track.
A video was recently uploaded showing a raft of uber-expensive SUVs tackling an intense off-road track somewhere in China.
The video is headlined by a Rolls-Royce Cullinan attempting to get over the rough terrain, with the likes of a Bentley Bentayga, a Lamborghini Urus, and a Maserati Levante in tow.
As expected, the majority of these tarmac-dwelling SUVs aren’t able to make it up the track, despite the drivers giving them plenty of encouragement.
A Mercedes-AMG G63 can be seen climbing the same terrain with ease, which also isn’t surprising given its heritage as a true off-roader.
