Audi has finally taken the covers off its Formula 1 car in all its glory, including team colours and sponsor stickers this time.
Officially called the ‘R26’, the Audi racer looks sleek in silver, and the contrasting red stickers reference its RS performance brand.
The car was unveiled at an event held in Berlin, and according to team chief Mattia Binotto, it’s less about the colours, and more what it represents.
“So far it has been smooth,” Binotto said. “Why has it been smooth? I think it’s because of the commitment of Audi.
“Audi has been really very supportive since day one, day zero, really being fully committed to our project, in love with the project, I would say,” he added.
Set to be piloted by F1 veteran Nico Hulkenberg alongside Gabriel Bortoleto, Audi has a nice mix of experience and fresh skill in its driver line-up.
“Today marks more than a launch; it marks the public declaration of a new era for Audi,” said Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi AG.
“Formula 1 is the most demanding stage in the world of motorsport, and we are here not just to compete, but to define the future of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik.’
“This project is a catalyst for our entire company, a symbol of our transformation towards a more performance-driven, efficient, and innovative culture. Our philosophy is one of absolute, long-term commitment.
“We understand that success in Formula 1 demands relentless perseverance and Audi Revolut F1 Team is not here to make up the numbers; we aim to be fighting for the World Championship by 2030,” he added.
