Coulthard leads Kiwi charge in Melbourne

Leading the charge is Fabian Coulthard in the Paul Cruickshank Racing Ford Falcon. He was second fastest qualifier behind Craig Lowndes’ 888 Racing Ford.

Right behind Coulthard and backing up a strong showing in last weekend’s Supercar series opener in Adelaide, is Jason Richards in the Brad Jones Racing Holden Commodore.

And Shane van Gisbergen has put his Stone Brothers Racing Falcon into 10th starting spot for the shootout.

van Gisbergen posted his fastest time in the dying moments of qualifying after being hampered by a down-on-power engine in the earlier practice session.

The shootout runs in early evening New Zealand time with the first race tonight, NZ time.
