The Delica will be Mitsubishi’s centrepiece at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, one of the world’s largest custom car shows, happening in a few days.

While people mover type vehicles don’t sell well as new cars here in NZ, they are popular on the used market. And so while Mitsubishi doesn’t offer the Delica D:5 in its new car showroom, the model can be had as a used import.

Both the upgraded D:5 and Delica Mini super height-wagon kei-car (above) will feature, all with suitable Auto Salon upgrades that ‘highlight the strength and versatility of the Delica D:5 and Delica Mini’.

Like the D:5 Ultimate Gear, pictured top. Said to ‘take the toughness of the Delica D:5 to the next level’ it has a 30mm body lift, bumper guards and side steps ‘designed for rugged terrain’. The vehicle also features a ‘rugged textured coating that makes scratches less noticeable’.

The Active Camper is said to feature a ‘warm, white birch wood-grain finish paired with a soothing brown interior’ and is a collaboration with the outdoor brand LOGOS. Mitsubishi says its 4WD capability makes it ‘the perfect companion from everyday driving to weekend adventures’.

Perfect for tight camp sites, the Delica Mini Active Camper is equipped with a pop-up roof, a front skid bar, and mud flaps. A 25mm lift kit ‘enhances off-road capability’, and is said to make this model ‘a true companion for those who want to fully embrace the outdoor experience’.

The D:5 Wild Adventure style is equipped with genuine Mitsubishi Motors accessories. These include a newly designed flat roof carrier, large mud flaps with ‘rally-inspired straps’, and a stainless-steel rear under cover for a ‘rugged look’.
