Good news for those that missed out on securing a Mustang Dark Horse last year. That’s the Mustang with a bit more of everything; power, dynamics, a unique badge and look, oh and a larger asking price.

Ford NZ says it has ‘less than 50’ allocated for this year and that these can be ordered via your local dealer as of now. A spokesman added; “Pricing is to be confirmed but shouldn’t change.”

When we tested it back in April 2025, it had an RRP of $116,990. Currently the GT asks $94,990

Dark Horse T8-Spec is an Ocker-only affair

Unfortunately we won’t be getting the special edition model that Ford Australia has just announced, that being the T8-Spec. It is said to take the Dark Horse “to a new level of track-focused capability”.

Developed in conjunction with Triple Eight Race Engineering, the T8-Spec is available exclusively in the new Avalanche Prestige Paint, and only with the Tremec six-speed manual transmission. It also features wider wheels and P Zero rubber measuring 305/30R19 on the  front and 315/30R19 at the rear. It gains a larger rear spoiler and an enhanced front aero splitter (that is said to be for track use only) along with a revised MagneRide suspension tune, stiffer springs, stiffer roll bars and adjustable top mounts.

A pity that’s not coming here.

Dark Horse SC

In other Dark Horse news, the US-only SC has had its output confirmed, with the hand-assembled, 5.2-litre supercharged V8 making 593kW of power and 895Nm of torque. The SC starts at US$103,490.
