BMW New Zealand has confirmed the updated 7 Series will be arriving locally later this year.
Set for a Q4 launch, this new 7 Series will be landing in both petrol and pure electric forms, giving buyers the choice of powertrain.

This new 7 Series is priced from $277,900 for the 740 model, and $306,900 for the range-topping i7 xDrive model.
Changes to the outside of the sedan are subtle, but bring the 7 Series more in-line with BMW’s ‘Neue Klasse’ design language.
It retains the signature kidney grilles at the front, which are still enormous, and adds glowing lights behind.

Powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder engine with mild hybrid assistance, the 740 produces 280kW and 580Nm.
This will send the 740 to 100km/h in 5.4-seconds before hitting a top speed of 250km/h.
The i7 makes use of a pair of electric motors, producing a peak output of 400kW and 745Nm of torque.

With all this grunt on hand, this sends the i7 to 100km/h in 4.8-seconds, with a slightly lower top speed of 240km/h.
On the range front, the i7’s 112kWh battery allows drivers to cover up to 727km (WLTP) between charges.
As always, the interior of the 7 Series is where most of the six-figure purchase price is spent, and this one looks even more special.

There’s a 17.9-inch infotainment display, plus BMW’s panoramic vision system, plus a heads-up display.
At the rear, BMW’s ‘Theatre Screen’ folds down from the roof, and offers 8K streaming and gaming entertainment.
