Nissan had poked fun at a visual comparison between its new Leaf and Ferrari’s controversial Luce EV.
Shared by Nissan of Ireland through the brand’s official Facebook page, the comparison shows the similarities between the two EVs.
From the similar bluey green hue to the contrasting glass house and black wheel spats, it’s not hard to see what Nissan is pointing out.
In the caption, Nissan also took a shot at Ferrari, implying the Italian brand took heavy inspiration from the Leaf in designing the Luce.
“They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so thank you Ferrari. Nissan. Always a smart choice.”
Since the official unveiling, Ferrari has faced criticism over the design of the Luce EV from almost everywhere.
Where fans criticised it for not staying true to the Maranello way, others have complained about how “Apple-ised” it is with Jony Ive at the helm.
Ferrari’s former CEO Luca Cordero di Montezemolo even went as far to suggest the Luce should be stripped of the prancing horse logo.
Despite the heat, Ferrari is standing behind its design decisions in regards to the Luce, with its current EV stating its where the brand is heading.
