Pagani’s diamond-dusted Huayra brings birthday trilogy to a close

Words: Kyle Cassidy

Pagani has revealed the Huayra 70 Anima, a one-off combining a twin-turbo V12, a seven-speed manual gearbox and paint infused with diamond dust.

Unveiled by Horacio Pagani at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas on October 31, the open-top hypercar completes the three-car Huayra 70 series created to mark the founder’s 70th birthday.

It joins the Trionfo and Derecho, with all three appearing together publicly for the first time at the Las Vegas event.

Anima translates from Italian as “soul”, although there’s plenty of expensive substance to go with the name. Exposed carbon fibre sits alongside a bespoke metallic finish containing diamond dust, with platinum-leaf striping and Inky Blue detailing completing the treatment.

The bodywork is equally elaborate. Individual roll hoops frame the cockpit, while a tall intake and fin rise behind the seats. A fixed rear wing, large diffuser and vented rear body sections give it a more aggressive appearance than a regular Huayra.

Then there’s the exhaust: six outlets finished in white ceramic, adding another distinctive detail to an already busy rear end.

Inside, white upholstery contrasts with blue accents and exposed machined metal. Pagani’s intricate switchgear remains, but the main attraction is the manual gear lever and its exposed linkage, backed by three pedals.

The Huayra first gained a manual gearbox with the Epitome in 2024, and the Huayra 70 cars continue that approach. For reference, the Epitome’s AMG-built 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 produces 635kW and 1100Nm. Pagani hasn’t confirmed the Anima’s own outputs, so those figures shouldn’t automatically be applied here.

Pricing also remains undisclosed.

The Anima arrives four years after Pagani unveiled the Utopia as the Huayra’s successor. Clearly, there’s still room for another bespoke commission based on the older car, particularly when it involves a V12 and a manual.

As birthday celebrations go, this one has certainly lasted. Horacio Pagani turns 71 on November 10, just days after unveiling the final member of his 70th-birthday trio.
