One of New Zealand’s most popular Peugeots, the 2008, has been given a new lease of life with updated styling and a host of new technological appointments.

The local arm of the French carmaker says it will initially offer the model in the GT variant for $44,990 plus on-road costs, before the arrival of the Allure and GT Hybrid in the second quarter of 2024.

You can expect to find Peugeot’s new shield badge on the now paint-matched grille, sitting atop a restyled front bumper which is home to a set of new three-claw daytime running lights.

Blacked-out accents can be found on the exterior, complementing a palette of six available colours, including a new Selenium Grey finish. Setting it all off is a set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

The interior has also received several upgrades in the tech department, including Peugeot’s new ‘IVI’ infotainment system that now runs on a 10-inch touchscreen, as well as wireless device connectivity and charging, and the brand’s new i-Cockpit 3D dashboard.

Under the bonnet sits the familiar 1.2-litre inline three-cylinder PureTech engine, sucking just 5.6 litres of fuel per 100km travelled. Just one transmission is on offer, that being an eight-speed automatic.

The new Peugeot 2008 GT is available for test drives and purchase at dealerships across New Zealand now.
