Polaris unveils new RZR Pro R Factory Boost with 300kW and a $350,000 price tag
Words: Andrew Sluys
Polaris has unveiled a new side-by-side which is clearly built for the upper echelon of off-road racing.
Dubbed the RZR Pro R Factory Boost, this side-by-side is a turnkey racer built to take on the likes of Baja, Dakar, and other grueling events.

It builds upon the “standard” Pro R Boost, by cranking the output of its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine to a hefty 300kW.
To handle this extra grunt, the wheelbase has been stretched by 16cm, which should help with high-speed stability.
The chassis has also been reinforced, with larger steel tubing used throughout.

An impressive amount of carbon fibre has been used across the cabin, moulded in a way that prioritises downforce.
While the majority of these upgrades are for speed, Polaris also notes the cabin has been widened 5cm to aid with comfort.

Aside from the power output, the most surprising figure in this side-by-side is the fuel tank capacity, which measures 170-litres. This is obviously for those long-haul off-road jaunts.
You could argue the majority of any racing side-by-side lies in the suspension system, and this is no different. It’s fitted with Dynamix DV suspension, and Fox Live Valve internal-bypass shocks.
These shocks are able to adjust damping 200 times per second, and are paired with a Fox steering damper.

Polaris plans to build this RZR Pro R Factory Boost at its factory in Minnesota, and has confirmed pricing.
In North America, it starts from $200,000 USD, which converts to around $350,000 NZD.
