Supersport 400 the most powerful Morgan yet
Words: Kyle Cassidy
Morgan Motor Company has unveiled its most powerful production car to date, with the new Supersport 400 breaking through the 400bhp barrier for the first time in the brand’s history.

The hardcore variant of the Supersport flagship is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine sourced from BMW, now producing 402bhp (300kW) – up from 335bhp in the standard model. That gives it more power than the firm’s previous V8-powered Aero 8, while also delivering serious performance gains.

Morgan claims the Supersport 400 can sprint from 0–100km/h in just 3.6 seconds, making it half a second quicker than its predecessor off the line.

Priced from £112,965 in the UK, the new model becomes the most expensive series-production Morgan yet, commanding the same ask as a Porsche 911 Carrera T. For comparison, the regular Supersport starts at £105,160.

Designed to deliver what Morgan describes as a “more intense and deliberate driving experience”, the 400 introduces a range of mechanical and visual upgrades aimed squarely at keen drivers. It also marks the beginning of a broader expansion of the Morgan line-up, with more bespoke and limited-edition variants planned over the next 18 months.

Key to the transformation is a revised chassis setup, with the Dynamic Handling Pack now fitted as standard. This includes adjustable Nitron dampers on all four corners and retuned suspension aimed at improving control while maintaining the approachable nature of the base car.

The Supersport 400 also rides on lightweight forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres, while a newly developed active performance exhaust system delivers a more purposeful soundtrack.
Visually, the flagship model gains functional front wing vents, contrasting lower body finishes and a range of Alcantara interior options, along with bespoke instrumentation. Buyers can also opt for unique satin paint finishes and even swap the standard BMW gear selector for a machined aluminium item.

Morgan CEO Matt Hole described the 400 as “the purest expression of Supersport”, adding that it represents a natural evolution of the range.
“From the outset, our aim has been to create a vehicle that is sharper and more deliberate, ensuring the additional power is delivered in a way that feels balanced, intuitive and deeply rewarding for the driver,” he said.
Production of the Supersport 400 is set to begin next month, although volumes will be tightly controlled to maintain exclusivity.
