Toyota fans will converge on Hampton Downs Motorsport Park next weekend, as the annual Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival returns with an expanded programme of on-track action and off-road adventures.
Scheduled for Saturday, March 28, the event blends classic Toyotas with the latest models and a growing lineup of interactive experiences.

According to Andrew Davis, Chief Strategic Officer and Vice President of Toyota Gazoo Racing New Zealand, the festival continues to evolve as a celebration of both the brand’s heritage and its future direction.
He says the event is designed to bring together enthusiasts while showcasing Toyota’s broader vision around mobility, performance and community engagement.
One of the major additions for 2026 is the debut of a North Island-based full-day 4×4 Experience, set in the North Waikato countryside. The off-road programme has already proven popular, with all available spots snapped up ahead of the event. A new GR Hub and the introduction of a “Happy Laps” cruise session will also give attendees more ways to engage with their vehicles on track.
For show car enthusiasts, 2026 brings another first, with a dedicated Lexus category added to the popular Show and Shine competition. Owners of both Toyota and Lexus vehicles are encouraged to enter.
On-track activity remains a core part of the festival, with multiple ways for drivers to get involved. Visitors can take their own vehicles out on the circuit, compete in a gymkhana skid pan challenge, or participate in the ever-popular parade lap; a mass cruise around the circuit that culminates in a group photo on the main straight.
Drifting will also feature prominently, with the Club Drift sessions offering open track time throughout the day. The programme will be overseen by three-time D1NZ champion Darren Kelly, who will help manage the on-track action for drivers of all skill levels.
