Volkswagen has added the new 2026 T-Roc to the local range. There’s just the one powertrain offered, but two model variants.
Both the Life and R-Line use a four cylinder turbopetrol, the 1.5-litre getting help from a 48 volt mild hybrid system. Overall power is rated at 110kW with 250Nm of torque helping out. It’s a front driver with a seven-speed twin-clutch. Volkswagen quotes fuel consumption at 5.6L/100km.
Two model variants are offered, the Life kicks things off at $53,990 while the R-line Launch Edition is $65,490.
The new T-Roc is just under 4.4m long and 1.8m metres wide. In the boot, you’ll find 475L of luggage space, while folding the rear seats liberates 1350 overall.
The safety fit out for both is complete with the usual range of assistance features including a driver attention monitor, speed sign recognition and adaptive cruise. Only a rear view camera is mentioned, no 360 degree option, but there is a parallel parking assistant.
The R-Line adds extras like drive mode selection, sports suspension and a progressive steering feature. It also has upgraded LED lights and the R-Line sports exterior treatment with privacy glass.
You can also expect three zone climate control inside, and both get a 12.9-inch colour screen with sat nav, wireless app connect, and voice control. The R-Line adds some interior sportification including a black headliner and ambient lighting.
The Life comes with cloth seats whereas the R-Line has leather-appointed sport seats with electric adjustment and heating for front and rear passengers. It also gains a head-up display and rolls on 18 inch wheels opposed to the 17s of the Life.
You can also get your T-Roc with a snazzy black roof treatment, but that costs a further $1000.
