The first Ferrari F80 has been delivered in New Zealand, with Continental Cars Ferrari sharing a few photos of its first time on track.
According to the Facebook post from the New Zealand-based distributor, this F80 is the first to be delivered in Australasia.
It reads:
“A landmark moment.
“Finished in Nero DS and set against the backdrop of New Zealand’s Southern Alps, this Ferrari F80 marks the first delivery of the model in Australasia.
“The F80 represents the pinnacle of performance, innovation and engineering from Maranello, bringing together technologies derived from Formula 1, endurance racing and decades of Ferrari excellence.
“A very special congratulations to the owner of this extraordinary car.”
When the F80 was revealed late last year, Ferrari made sure to mention all 799 production slots were allocated.
Considering it started from $6.65 million, it’s clear demand was rife for the first proper ‘F car’ since the F50.
Instead of the V8s or V12s that Ferrari halo cars have used in the past, the F80 takes its powertrain from endurance racers.
It uses a twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (shock, horror) and five motors to produce 882kW, with three-quarters of it from ICE power.
The F80 has a dry weight of 1525kg. Ferrari says it jets to 100 in just 2.15sec and cracks through 200km/h in 5.75sec. Top speed is limited to 350km/h.
