Ford New Zealand has issued a recall for the Ranger ute, due to an EGR valve that might fail.
According to the recall notice, Ranger utes from 2025 might be affected by this issue.
According to Ford New Zealand, the fault affects just the PHE models, of which 88 are included in the recall.
“In some of the affected vehicles, the EGR valve fails, causing weak acceleration, engine vibration, a no-start condition, or a loss of motive power (likely at low speeds of 15 mph / 24 KPH or below).
“A check engine light may illuminate. A loss of motive power increases the risk of a crash.”
Ford New Zealand also noted that there is “no fix at this stage” for the issue.
