Nissan cuts the roof off a Patrol in the name of adventure
Words: Andrew Sluys
Nissan recently took the covers off a bunch of concepts that it was bringing to SEMA, but it’s a roof-less Patrol that caught our attention.
Technically an Armada, (but they’re essentially the same vehicle, in different markets), they are calling it the “Jungle Patrol.”

The lack of roof is easily the biggest modification that this SUV has undergone, replaced with an extensive roll cage structure.
Adding to the jungle-conquering aesthetic, it gets a bunch of lights across the bull bar and front bar of the roll cage.

It wears large off-road tyres which are wrapped around bead-locked wheels. Fender extensions have also been added to keep it all in check.
On the inside, it replaces the standard rear seats with inward-facing benches that feature harnesses.
According to Nissan, its intentions with these vehicles is to inspire owners to personalise their vehicles.

Alongside the wild Jungle Patrol, Nissan enthusiast unveiled a heavily modified Pathfinder, which looks like it has just come off the set of a Fast and Furious movie.
Based on the US-market Pathfinder (which differs from the one Nissan used to sell here), this modified SUV has been called the ‘Trackfinder’.

Beneath the bonnet, it uses a 4.0-litre petrol V6 engine which has since been fitted with a supercharger.
According to the builder, it produces north of 370kW, which is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

“I wanted something that would make people laugh, smile, and question everything they thought they knew about a Pathfinder,” Scherr said in the release.
