Subaru has finally taken the covers off the three-row electric SUV it has been teasing for quite some time, and it’s called the Getaway.

Heavily based on the recently unveiled Toyota Highlander EV, the Subaru doesn’t look to be too much different, bar the badges.

It makes use of a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, which produces 313kW. This is reportedly good for a sub five-second 0-100km/h time.

This hefty power figure also makes it the most powerful production vehicle Subaru has ever built, which somewhat adds insult to injury on the STI front.

Power comes from a 95.8kWh battery, which is reportedly good for over 480km of range.

Inside it gets a 14-inch infotainment display, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster. Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto are both standard.

There’s a panoramic sun roof, and heated/ventilated seats in all three rows.

As for its off-road ability, the Getaway has a ground clearance of 210mm, and makes use of the brand’s X-Mode off-road system.

Despite its large dimensions, it seems compromised on the towing front, with it rated to just 1.5-tonnes.

Considering Subaru unveiled this SUV at the New York Auto Show, we can assume it will be a model limited to the North American market for the time being.
