Low mileage Toyota Supra sells for more than $400K at auction

Words: Andrew Sluys

An all-original, low-mileage fourth-generation Toyota Supra has become the most expensive example after selling for over $420,000 at auction.

The car in question is a white targa top that was built during the car’s final year of production for the US.

With less than 10,000km on the clock, the Supra reportedly lived a pampered life, rarely leaving its garage throughout the last 27 years.

Adding to this, the owner stated that the targa top has never been removed, which will be a heart-breaking realisation for drivers everywhere.

Unlike the majority of fourth-generation Supras, this one has lived a life without any sort of modification, meaning the 2JZ-GTE beneath the hood is almost factory fresh.

This 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine has become a favourite among performance enthusiasts for the power gains possible, so finding a completely standard example is not a common occurrence.

As you’d expect from a car of this value, this engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, sending power rearward.

Supra enthusiasts will be quick to point out that this isn’t the most expensive Supra sold at auction, as that title belongs to the orange one from the Fast and Furious.

Instead, this one comes with the caveat of being the most expensive completely stock Supra ever sold at auction.

If you are interested in getting your hands on a Supra, Autotrader currently has a bunch listed for a lot less than this white one.
