2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA 45

This 2016 NZ-new Mercedes-Benz CLA45 Shooting Brake is the kind of car that quietly looks practical until you put your foot down and it turns into something properly aggressive.

Under the bonnet sits a hand-built 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that punches well above its weight, paired with a 4WD system that just grips and goes. No drama, no wheelspinjust relentless traction. The Pirelli P-Zero tyres bite hard into the road, giving you confidence to lean on it through corners in a way most wagons simply cant.

And when its time to pull things back, the braking setup is just as serious. Large drilled discs and AMG calipers deliver massive stopping powersharp, controlled, and reassuring when youre pressing on.

The beauty of the CLA45 Shooting Brake is the balance. Youve got the practicality of a wagon, the presence of an AMG, and performance that genuinely surprises people who think its just a Mercedes wagon.

Fast, planted, and far more exciting than it has any right to be.
