Ferrari has pulled the covers off its latest one-off creation, the CZ26, revealed during Monterey Car Week in California.
The car is the newest product of Ferrari’s Special Projects programme, which builds unique, client-commissioned models styled by the Ferrari Design Studio under design boss Flavio Manzoni. Each one-off takes around two years from initial concept to finished car, with the client involved throughout.
Beneath the bespoke bodywork sits the running gear of the SF90 Stradale, Ferrari’s first series-production plug-in hybrid. That means a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 586kW, paired with three electric motors adding a further 162kW, for a combined output of 735kW. An 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive complete the package.
Performance figures mirror the donor car: 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0-200km/h in 6.7 seconds, and a top speed of 328km/h. A 7.9kWh battery allows up to 25km of electric-only running.
Ferrari describes a strongly horizontal, two-box silhouette, with a capsule-like central body supported by muscular haunches over each wheel arch. The design team says the approach takes inspiration from Italian industrial design of the 1970s, reinterpreted with a modern eye.
Up front is a full-width functional grille housing ultra-slim, concealed lighting modules, brake cooling intakes and sensors, while the truncated tail carries cantilevered taillights and a pronounced horizontal diffuser. Blacked-out roof and pillar trim creates the effect of a cockpit set into the body.
The paintwork is a bespoke silver dubbed Argento Veloce, described as having a liquid-like quality, contrasted with Rosso Lampante red details and pigmented carbon fibre. Model-specific wheels combine gloss black paint with a shot-peened finish, and the exhaust tips are natural-finish titanium.
Inside, the theme continues with black technical fabric, 3D-printed seat inserts unique to the car, red accents and an embroidered CZ26 logo. Gloss carbon fibre woven with metallic filaments features alongside body-coloured trim on the doors and dash.
The aerodynamic package was also reworked, with a reoriented front radiator pack, new underbody and vortex generators, an air curtain system in the front bumper, plus a large rear spoiler and dedicated diffuser.
