The recently-revived Lola brand has announced plans to build a modern version of its T70S, dubbed the T70S GT.

Set to be produced as a limited-run supercar, this machine will be built in road-ready and track-only forms.

Complete with styling that matches the original supercar, the T70S GT looks the part, but hides modern tech inside.

Beneath this retro exterior, the T70S GT is powered by a GM-sourced 6.2-litre V8 producing 300kW and 617Nm of torque.

This is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, and it can reportedly hit 100km/h in just 2.9-seconds.

This impressive performance is possible thanks to the fact the GT tips the scales at just 890kg.

The other track-only variant will be called the T70S, and it is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 also sourced from Chevrolet.

Despite the smaller displacement, a higher redline means this version makes more power and torque.

It drops its weight to just 860kg, meaning it will be even more potent.

On the inside, the cars are both as basic as you’d expect, with a manual shifter and a couple of racing seats.

Just 16 of these revived T70S examples are slated for production, and we can imagine they won’t be going cheap.
