New Audi Q7 priced from $164,990 in New Zealand

Words: Kyle Cassidy

Audi’s third-generation Q7 is now available to order in New Zealand, with the seven-seat SUV priced from $164,990 plus on-road costs and first customer deliveries expected in early 2027.

The local range launches exclusively with a V6 turbo-diesel powertrain. Adaptive air suspension, all-wheel steering and an electrically swivelling towbar are standard, alongside a head-up display and dedicated front passenger screen.

The Q7 TDI 220kW quattro combines its V6 with mild-hybrid plus technology, producing 220kW and 630Nm. An eight-speed Tiptronic automatic sends power through Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Braked towing capacity is 3500kg, giving the new model the ability to handle a substantial boat or caravan. The standard air suspension and all-wheel steering are intended to improve ride comfort and manoeuvrability, both around town and on longer trips.

Audi New Zealand general manager Greg Leet says the standard equipment is central to the new Q7’s appeal.

“The new Q7 combines the space and versatility expected from a premium seven-seat SUV with an outstanding level of standard equipment. Features that are often optional elsewhere, including adaptive air suspension, all-wheel steering, electrically swiveling tow bar, a head-up display and a front passenger display, are all included as standard, creating exceptional value for our customers.”

The exterior specification includes S line styling, 21-inch wheels, Matrix LED headlights with digital light signatures, digital OLED rear lights and privacy glass.

Inside, sport front seats come with heating and ventilation, while second-row occupants also get heated seats. Four-zone climate control allows separate temperature settings around the cabin, and surface heating extends to the front door armrests and centre console.

Audi’s new digital dashboard incorporates the MMI front passenger display, allowing the person alongside the driver their own screen. Dual wireless phone charging is also included.

The driver-assistance package features adaptive cruise assist plus, front and rear emergency brake assist, side assist and lane departure warning with emergency assist. Park assist pro and a 360-degree camera system with a 3D view help with parking the large SUV.

Seven seats are fitted as standard, although buyers can specify a six-seat configuration. Audi quotes 581 litres of luggage capacity behind the second row, expanding to 1980 litres with the rear seating folded.

Other options include Digital Matrix LED headlights with projection functions, a panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency, Bang & Olufsen premium audio systems and Audi exclusive interior treatments.

The distinction between the lighting systems is worth keeping in mind: Matrix LED headlights are standard, while the more advanced Digital Matrix units sit on the options list.

Orders are open through Audi dealerships nationwide, with customer deliveries expected to begin from early 2027.
