Triumph previews four new models, with NZ arrivals expected in early 2027

Triumph has outlined a four-model launch programme for 2027, spanning its Bonneville classics, Street Triple roadsters and Tiger adventure bikes. The new models are expected to arrive in New Zealand during the first quarter of 2027, with pricing to be announced closer to local arrival.
The programme begins with the newly revealed Bonneville T40 and T40 Black. Read all about that here. A new Tiger 1200 follows on 27 October 2026, the Street Triple 798 will be unveiled on 17 November, and an updated Tiger 900 completes the sequence on 15 December.
Triumph has released a teaser film and images previewing the line-up, although full specifications for the three upcoming models remain under wraps.

The Street Triple gains a new 798cc powerplant developed for the 2027 Moto2 championship, linking the next road-going model with Triumph’s continuing role as the series’ exclusive engine supplier.
Triumph says the Street Triple 798 will have an even more performance-focused specification than previous models. Power, torque and equipment details will be revealed in November. The current Street Triple range uses a 765cc triple, which also forms the basis of today’s Moto2 engines.

The Tiger 1200 is due to receive a distinctive new look and an updated 1200cc three-cylinder engine. Triumph promises improvements to both performance and refinement, alongside advanced rider technology and what it describes as the most sophisticated suspension package fitted to one of its motorcycles.
That leaves the precise suspension hardware, electronic features and model variants to be confirmed at the October unveiling. Both the Tiger 1200 and Street Triple 798 are scheduled to appear at the EICMA and Motorcycle Live shows.

The Tiger 900 update follows in December, with a more powerful and refined engine, an upgraded chassis and enhanced rider technology. Next-generation connectivity will be standard, although Triumph hasn’t detailed the system’s functions or supplied the new engine outputs in the preview.
At the smaller-capacity end, the Bonneville T40 and T40 Black introduce the familiar nameplate to Triumph’s 400cc family. They use a new iteration of the TR Series engine, combining traditional Bonneville styling with relaxed ergonomics and an expanded technology package.

The pair join a platform that already includes the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC, Thruxton 400 and Tracker 400, giving Triumph another route into its classic range for riders wanting a smaller-capacity motorcycle.
“We’ve got four important model launches coming over the next three months, starting today with the new Bonneville T40. It’s great to be able to give riders an early look at what’s coming. We can’t wait to share the full details of each bike in the coming weeks,” says Triumph chief marketing officer Nick Bell.
