BMW New Zealand has confirmed the return of the i4 Gran Coupé, arriving before the end of 2025 with a single, high-spec variant; the i4 eDrive40. Priced from $124,900, the revised model brings a sharper design, more technology and a longer driving range.

The facelifted i4 features a refreshed exterior led by a new diamond-textured kidney grille and slimmer LED headlights with vertical daytime running lights. Buyers can further enhance the look with an Enhancement Package, which adds adaptive LED headlights, laser-inspired taillamps, and metallic paintwork.

Inside, BMW has refined the cabin with a flat-bottom M steering wheel, seat heating and lumbar support up front and an electric glass sunroof now included as standard. The ventilation and climate control system have also been redesigned for a more intuitive, high-end feel.

Under the skin, new silicon carbide semiconductor components are said to improve power efficiency by 4.5 per cent, extending the i4’s WLTP range to up to 542km, a 22km increase over the outgoing version. Energy comes from an 80.5kWh battery and a rear-mounted, 250kW/430Nm electric motor provides motivation. BMW says the i4 can hit 100km/h in 5.6 seconds.

Standard kit is extensive, including M Sport Package, 19-inch alloy wheels, Head-Up Display, Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant Plus, wireless charging, and BMW IconicSounds Electric.
