Polestar has shown off the upcoming SUV variant of the Polestar 4, which is set to launch later this year.
Built by Geely, this new Polestar 4 SUV will adopt the same underpinnings as the Polestar 4 Coupe, which is currently offered in New Zealand.
Despite calling it an “SUV”, the Polestar 4 SUV’s dimensions are far more akin to that of a station wagon. But modern marketing trends mean an SUV will likely sell better.
This Polestar 4 SUV will be produced at the brand’s Busan factory in South Korea.
Polestar has confirmed the 4 SUV will be launched with multiple powertrain options, including a single-motor rear-wheel drive variant, and multiple dual-motor all-wheel drive guises.
According to the Chinese brand, the long-range variant should be rated to over 630km (WLTP) range on a single charge.
Like the Coupe, dual-motor variants of the Polestar 4 SUV should produce around 400kW.
Arguably the most important change lies in the SUV’s body, with it featuring a rear window. This is something controversially left out of the Polestar 4 Coupe.
It’s unclear as to when this Polestar 4 SUV will go on sale in New Zealand, but global sales will commence on September 2.
