Ford has provided us with a better look of its new Transit Custom at the IAA Transportation Show 2022 in Germany, showcasing the next evolution in its line of workhorses.

The brand also gave us a glimpse at a new addition to its electric lineup in the form of the E-Transit Custom. Powered by what Ford says is its next-generation battery technology, the electric Transit targets a range of 380km, with a recharging ability of 124kW.

Ford’s latest generation of EcoBlue diesel engines are on offer in the new Transit Custom, combined with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. All up, the new power plant offers a maximum towing capacity of 2500kg.

Key features of the new Transit Custom include a new vehicle architecture which lowers floor height for more load carry capability. Independent suspension is new for the rear end.

A mobile office option with a tilting steering wheel can also be specified, while a 13-inch touchscreen as standard completes the interior.
