Honda Prelude Bordeaux Edition joins NZ range
Words: Kyle Cassidy
Honda New Zealand has added a Bordeaux Edition to its revived Prelude range, with orders opening through Honda Stores on 15 October at $72,490 plus on-road costs.

The new variant follows the hybrid coupe’s return to the local line-up earlier in 2026, adding a distinctive red colour scheme inside and out.

Premium Crystal Garnet Red paint is paired with red accents on the front and rear bumpers, red Brembo brake calipers and 19-inch machined black alloy wheels.

The Bordeaux theme continues through the cabin, with contrasting red stitching across the steering wheel, centre console and dashboard, as well as the front seats and door trim. Dedicated floor mats with red accents complete the package.
Honda New Zealand director Carolyn McMahon said the new edition broadens the Prelude’s appeal.

“The introduction of the new Bordeaux-Edition Prelude takes the Joy of driving to a new level, pairing its refined styling and design to create an even more distinct presence on New Zealand’s iconic roads”.
“I’m pleased to be able to provide more product offerings for our customers, ensuring there is something to suit a broader range of lifestyles. It’s important that we continue to expand our product lineup to meet changing customer expectations.”

The Prelude also features Honda’s S+ Shift technology, which aims to recreate the sound and sensation of quick automatic gear changes in the hybrid coupe.
Activated at the push of a button, the system combines changes in engine note and throttle response to simulate the kick of a gear change, along with a rev-matching throttle blip during shifts and engine braking.
