Just eight MINI Cooper Oxford Editions coming to New Zealand
Words: Richard Edwards
MINI is marking 25 years of modern MINI production with a special edition celebrating its British home, and New Zealand will get just eight of them.
The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition arrives in the fourth quarter of 2026, offered locally only as the Cooper S 3-Door in Indigo Sunset Blue. Pricing and full specifications will be confirmed closer to launch.
The edition takes its name from MINI Plant Oxford, where the classic Mini was first built in 1959 and where BMW Group has produced the modern MINI since 2001.

Union Jack details define the special edition, starting with the flag displayed across the roof. The central red and white stripe runs the length of the car, while white mirror caps contrast with the blue paintwork in a nod to earlier MINIs. The car rides on 18-inch Slide Spoke two-tone wheels, with matching wheel hub and valve cap covers.
Inside, a textured printed flag features on the six o’clock steering wheel element, and the driver’s floor mat carries a circular Union Jack. The passenger side gets a circular chequered flag design referencing MINI’s racing heritage, while unique door sills complete the treatment.

MINI is also offering an Oxford Capsule lifestyle range alongside the car, including a traveller bag, T-shirts, a cap, stickers and the MINI Umbrella Walking Stick, with textiles finished in dark blue to match the paintwork.
Alexander Brockhoff, general manager of MINI Australia and New Zealand, says the edition pays tribute to the birthplace of the brand.
“With a limited NZ allocation, this edition gives our local MINI fans a rare opportunity to own a car that celebrates both the brand’s British heritage and its spirit of individuality,” he says.
The Oxford Edition follows other recent special editions including the MINI 1965 Victory Edition and the MINI Paul Smith Edition.
