The MIA has appointed Aimee Wiley as the next Chief Executive Officer, replacing David Crawford who retires mid-2023.

Aimee was selected because of her unique skill set, and extensive professional experience and formal education.

She has a wealth of senior experience, across a range of businesses, including in the automotive industry with Ford NZ and Ford Asia Pacific Product Development. More recently she has been working in government as the Programme Director, Low Emission Vehicles (Clean Car Discount and Clean Car Standard) for the New Zealand Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi).

Aimee will bring with her extensive knowledge of government process, along with leadership skills and formal qualifications in Accountancy and Business Law.

She takes up the new posting with the MIA on 1 April and will be working with the President of the MIA, Simon Rutherford, and outgoing CEO, David Crawford, over the ensuing three months to ensure a smooth transition.

MIA members are thrilled that Aimee is taking over as the new CEO at a time of great change in the industry. The board and members would also like to recognise the huge contribution and dedicated service David has provided in his tenure as the CEO of MIA.
