Automotive pyrotechnics disposal update

Words: Harrison Wade

Since 2018, the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) has offered a service for the removal and disposal of automotive pyrotechnics found in cars like airbags, seat belt pretensioners, and warning flares.

NZDF had been undertaking this work in the absence of a viable commercial alternative. However, there is now a commercial company which is able to undertake the disposal of automotive pyrotechnics and therefore this service is no longer provided by NZDF.

For the safe disposal of automotive pyrotechnics, you can use International Pyrotechnics Solutions Ltd
