Audi unveils new A6 Allroad with RS5-inspired looks

Audi has unveiled the new A6 Allroad, which looks to be bigger, wider, and more aggressive than ever before. 

Based on the new A6, which was unveiled last year, this wagon gets the usual Allroad treatment, with improved capability and practicality. 

The extended wheel arches add 11cm to the overall width of the wagon, and the 34mm increased right height adds to the imposing presence. 

It also rides on adaptive air suspension as standard, which features an adjustment range of 55mm.

Audi notes this suspension system is paired with a stiffer steering system that should translate more road feel to the driver. 

The all-wheel steering system can rotate the rear wheels up to 5 degrees, and also reportedly improves low speed maneuverability. 

Audi mentions wheel sizes ranging from 19 to 21-inches are available on this new A6 Allroad. 

Beneath the bold new exterior, the engine options include either a 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6, or a 2.0-litre petrol plug-in hybrid. 

The 25.9kWh battery in the PHEV allows it to cover up to 95km of pure electric range off a single charge. 

Where the diesel makes 220kW and 580kW, the plug-in hybrid eclipses this with 270kW and 500Nm of torque.

As you’d expect, Audi’s iconic quattro all-wheel drive system is offered as standard with the Allroad. 

On the inside, it’s a familiar affair with a 11.9-inch digital cluster and 14.5-inch infotainment display. 

There’s also a 10.9-inch display mounted in front of the passenger.
