Audi is looking to revive its iconic A2 badge for an upcoming electric hatchback that will reportedly launch next year.
According to a report first published by Autocar, this new electric hatch is set to replace the A1 and Q2, which are both set to cease production at the end of this year.
It will reportedly be called the A2 e-tron, which follows Audi’s new naming convention of electric vehicles.
Audi is yet to make any sort of announcement about this new electric hatch, but it is understood that it will launch in Europe in 2027.
Despite this radio silence, Audi has been spotted testing a heavily camouflaged hatch at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany.
It will reportedly sit on the same MEB platform as the Volkswagen ID.3, but be more SUV-like in its stature.
With these underpinnings, it’s likely the little Audi will be powered by a 79kWh battery in its range-topping form.
This should provide a driving range of up to 595km (WLTP).
