BYD New Zealand has confirmed price increase across its entire local range. All models will increase by $1,000, while the Shark 6 ute range rises by $2,000.
BYD Auto NZ general manager Warren Willmot says a combination of cost pressures has driven the move.
“This is our first price increase since 2023,” Willmot says. “Shipping costs, local logistics, exchange rates and cost of living increases for our staff have all been factored in.”
This pricing changes come as BYD New Zealand works to fill customer orders while record demand pushes wait times out.
The brand’s expansion around New Zealand is also likely a factor, with six new dealership locations recently announced, putting it at 19 in total.
