The very last V8-powered ute Holden Special Vehicles has emerged for sale online, but it’s not the Maloo most would assume.
The ute in question is a 2019 HSV Colorado SportsCat V8, which is a one-off prototype built before Holden folded.

Instead of the usual 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, this SportsCat makes use of a 6.2-litre V8 from an SS Commodore.
This engine is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system, which uses a Silverado transfer case.
With 350kW and 750Nm on tap, this SportsCat can hit 100km/h from a standing start in less than five seconds.

It’s finished in Panorama Silver, which is a nod to HSV’s first vehicle produced — the VL Commodore SS Group A Walkinshaw.
On the inside, it gets a pair of HSV seats, finished in red/black leather, and also sports an HSV steering wheel.

It will also be sold with the SV8CAT promotional number plates.
It is currently listed through the Young Timers Garage website, where it wears a $363,000 price tag.
When this ute was last sold by Walkinshaw Automotive in 2021, it fetched $216,500.
