LDV cuts up to $33,000 from its range as runout begins
Words: Richard Edwards
LDV has slashed prices across its entire New Zealand range, with cuts of up to $33,000 as distributor Inchcape clears landed stock ahead of its exit from the brand.
A pricelist issued on 17 August reprices every model on a runout basis, valid on stock at participating dealers while it lasts. The result is some of the sharpest new vehicle pricing in the market, headlined by the Terron 9 ute at $38,990 for MY25 Elite stock, down from $54,990.

The big ute is the standout of the sale. When we reviewed the Terron 9 Premium recently, we found a lot to like at its original price, calling it a lot of ute for the money. At 5.5 metres long it sits between a Ranger and a Ram 1500 in size. It uses a 2.5-litre turbodiesel (163kW, 520Nm) paired with an eight-speed automatic.
That case only strengthens with $16,000 off. MY26 Elite stock is priced at $44,990, and the better-equipped Premium drops to $47,990, $12,000 below its original sticker.

The T60 MAX falls $13,000 to $31,990, with the leather-lined MAX Plus at $36,990. Both are 4WD with the 160kW, 500Nm twin-turbo diesel and 3500kg braked towing. The seven-seat D90 SUV drops $10,000 across the range, now starting at $39,990 for the Elite and topping out at $47,990 for the Executive AWD.
For tradies and businesses, the Deliver van range is down $10,000 across the board, with the Deliver 7 from $35,990 and the Deliver 9 from $45,990. The most remarkable number on the list is the Deliver 9 Cab Chassis at $19,990, a cut of $33,000 that makes it by far the cheapest new commercial platform on sale in New Zealand.

All prices are recommended sale prices including GST, excluding on-road costs.
What about the warranty?
The obvious question for anyone eyeing a runout bargain is what happens to support once Inchcape steps away. The pricelist addresses this directly, confirming that all new LDVs bought from an authorised dealer remain covered by the manufacturer’s warranty applicable at the time of purchase, and that warranty support, parts supply and servicing will continue unaffected by the change in distribution.
That warranty is one of the market’s longest at seven years or 200,000km, backed by roadside assistance for the same period.

Inchcape announced in July it would end its LDV distribution partnership following a transition period, shortly after making the same call on KGM. LDV’s parent SAIC is expected to confirm new distribution arrangements for New Zealand in due course, and the brand is not expected to leave the market. In the meantime, buyers willing to move on landed stock are the clear winners.
