Brabus’ latest creation is a 660kW Mercedes-AMG G-Class ute
Words: Andrew Sluys
Brabus has built upon its reputation of creating wild Mercedes-AMG vehicles, and unveiled a fire-breathing G-Class ute.
Based on the popular G63 SUV, the Brabus P900 Rocket Edition extends the practicality through the addition of a tray at the rear.

This tray features a side-opening tailgate, carbon fibre side walls, a liner made from teak, and lockable storage boxes.
To create this tray, the wheelbase of the SUV was extended by 50cm, but Brabus claims that torsional rigidity hasn’t been affected.

Beneath the bonnet, the P900 retains the G63’s twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine, but the numbers have been bumped to match the ‘Rocket’ moniker.
A hefty 662kW and 1250Nm is now sent to all four wheels through the nine-speed automatic transmission, representing increases of 54 and 47 per cent, respectively.

On the outside, the P900 wears Brabus’ Widestar widebody kit, which features a plethora of carbon fibre parts.
The extra wide guards are filled with Brabus 24-inch wheels that wear a retro three-spoke design.
On the inside, the upholstery consists of leather and alcantara, paired with exposed carbon fibre accents.
