The 2011 Range Rover SUV will get a new 4.4-litre V8 turbodiesel engine that produces up to 700 Nm of torque, and 309 horsepower.
This means a 15% increase in power and 10% increase in torque over the previous model, and the engine’s CO² emissions will reportedly be cut to 253g/km, a 14% decrease.
It’ll also get a ZF 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission.
Range Rover says the new model will be capable of a 0-60mph (0-97kmh) sprint in 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 130mph (210kmh). The SUV also gets 30.1 miles per gallon (12.7L/km), the first Range Rover to accomplish this.
“Its combination of reduced CO² emissions and superior engine performance continue to make it a clear industry benchmark,” said Land Rover executive Phil Popham. “And with the introduction of our all-new ‘super diesel’, we see the Range Rover delivering over 30mpg for the first time.”
Also featured are paddle shifters, a new CommandShift knob, and a new Terrain Response Optimisation Switch. New exterior colors, and new sets of wheels will be sold as part of a new Exterior Design Pack, with a new bumper, grille, fog lights, vents, side sills, exhaust tips, and rear bumper.
The 2011 Range Rover will go on sale in the UK in September, with more markets to follow.
