Alfa Romeo names its mystery concept ahead of Paris debut
Words: Kyle Cassidy
Alfa Romeo’s next concept car has a name: Cuorerosso. What sits beneath the bodywork remains a mystery, but the Italian brand is promising something designed to appeal to the heart.
The name translates as ‘red heart’, combining two familiar elements of Alfa’s identity. The concept will debut at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October and remain on display until 18 October.
After a teaser campaign filled with fleeting images and potential names, the confirmation settles one question. Earlier videos had prompted speculation that the car would be called Battito Rosso, but Cuorerosso is the badge heading for the show stand.
A sports car in the making?
The teasers have shown sculpted red bodywork without revealing the complete car. Italian publication Quattroruote reports that the latest footage includes glimpses of intricate LED lighting within carbon-fibre surrounds and a low silhouette apparently sliding through a corner.
That has fuelled suggestions of a sports car, potentially with proportions recalling the mid-engined 4C. However, those are interpretations of the teaser footage, rather than confirmed details from Alfa Romeo.
There are no announced powertrain specifications, dimensions or production plans. It also remains unclear whether the concept previews a particular future model or provides a broader indication of Alfa’s design direction.
For now, Alfa’s message centres on the connection between car and driver. It describes Cuorerosso as a future-facing project developed for enthusiasts, with the emphasis on creating something that excites. The Paris reveal will show how that philosophy translates into metal.
